ThinkPadSetup
YourcomputercomeswiththeThinkPadSetupprogramtoenableyoutoselectvarioussetupparameters.
TostartThinkPadSetup,dothefollowing:
1.Turnonthecomputer.Whenthelogoscreenisdisplayed,presstheF1key.theThinkPadSetup
programmainmenuopens.
Ifyouhavesetasupervisorpassword,theThinkPadSetupprogrammainmenuwillbedisplayed
afteryouenterthepassword.YoucanstartThinkPadSetupbypressingEnterinsteadofenteringthe
supervisorpassword.However,youcannotchangetheparametersthatareprotectedbythesupervisor
password.Formoreinformation,referto“Usingpasswords”onpage49.
2.Usingthecursorkeys,movetoanitemyouwanttochange.Whentheitemishighlighted,press
Enter.Asubmenuisdisplayed.
3.Changetheitemsyouwishtochange.Tochangethevalueofanitem,pressthefollowingkeys:
•Fn+F5or–:Changetoalowervalue.
•Fn+F6orthecombinationofShiftand+:Changetoahighervalue.
Iftheitemhasasubmenu,youcandisplayitbypressingEnter.
4.PressEsctoexitfromthesubmenu.
5.Ifyouareonanestedsubmenu,pressEscrepeatedlyuntilyoureachtheThinkPadSetupprogram
mainmenu.
Note:Ifyouneedtorestorethesettingstotheiroriginalstateasofthetimeofpurchase,pressFn+F9to
loadthedefaultsettings.YoualsocanselectanoptionontheRestartsubmenutoloadthedefault
settingsordiscardthechanges.
6.SelectRestart.Movethecursortotheoptionyouwantforrestartingyourcomputer;thenpressEnter.
Yourcomputerrestarts.

beavailableonyourcomputer,andsomemenuitemsmightbeslightlydifferentfromtheactualmenuitems
displayedonyourcomputer.
