Computerscreenproblems
•Problem:Thescreenisblank.
Solution:Dothefollowing:
–PressF6tobringuptheimage.
–Ifyouareusingtheacpoweradapter,orusingthebatteryandthePowerManagerBatteryGauge
showsthatthebatteryisnotdepleted,pressF8tomakethescreenbrighter.
–Ifyourcomputerisinsleep(standby)mode,pressFntoresumefromthesleep(standby)mode.
–Iftheproblempersists,dotheSolutionintheproblembelow.
•Problem:Thescreenisunreadableordistorted.
Solution:Makesurethat:
–Thedisplaydevicedriverisinstalledcorrectly.
–Thescreenresolutionandcolorqualityarecorrectlyset.
–Themonitortypeiscorrect.
Tocheckthesesettings,dothefollowing:
ForWindows7:
1.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.
2.ClickAdvancedSettings.
3.ClicktheAdaptertab.
4.Makesurethatthecorrectdevicedrivernameisshownintheadapterinformationwindow.
Note:Thedevicedrivernamedependsonthevideochipthathasbeeninstalledonyourcomputer.
5.ClickthePropertiesbutton.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconrmation,type
thepasswordorprovideconrmation.Checkthe“Devicestatus”boxandmakesurethedeviceis
workingproperly.Ifnot,clicktheTroubleshootbutton.ClosethePropertieswindow.
6.ClicktheMonitortab.Checkwhetherthecolorqualityiscorrectlyset,makesureotherinformation
isalsocorrect.
7.ClickthePropertiesbutton.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconrmation,type
thepasswordorprovideconrmation.Checkthe“Devicestatus”boxandmakesurethedeviceis
workingproperly.Ifnot,clicktheTroubleshootbutton.
ForWindowsXP:
1.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickPropertiestoopentheDisplayPropertieswindow.
2.ClicktheSettingstab.
3.Checkwhetherthescreenresolutionandcolorqualityarecorrectlyset.
4.ClickAdvanced.
5.ClicktheAdaptertab.
