•Ifyouareunabletoresolvetheproblemthroughothermethods,uninstallthesoftwareprogramand
reinstallit.
Iftheseactionsdonotcorrecttheproblem,youmightneedtechnicalassistance.Contactyoursoftware

USBproblems
Symptom:TheUSBconnectorscannotbeaccessed.
Actions:
•MakesuretheUSBcableissecurelyconnectedtotheUSBconnectorandtotheUSBdevice.IftheUSB
devicehasitsownpowercord,makesureitisattachedtoaproperlygroundedelectricaloutlet.
•IftheUSBdevicehasitsownOn/Offswitch,makesureitisintheOnposition.
•IftheUSBdevicehasanOnlineswitch,makesureitisintheOnlineposition.
•IftheUSBdeviceisaprinter,makesurepaperisloadedcorrectly.
•MakesureanydevicedriversorothersoftwaresuppliedwiththeUSBdeviceiscorrectlyinstalled.
RefertothedocumentationfortheUSBdevice.
•ResetthedevicebydetachingandreattachingtheUSBconnector.
Iftheseactionsdonotcorrecttheproblem,runthediagnosticprogramstotesttheUSBconnector(see
“Diagnostics”onpage49forinstructions).IftheUSBdevicecamewithitsowndiagnostics,runthose

alsoreportoperating-system-controlledsettingsthatinterferewiththecorrectoperationofyoursystem.

•PC-DoctorforRescueandRecovery(usedwhenyoucannotstarttheWindowsoperatingsystem)
