ConguringtheEthernetcontrollers
TheEthernetcontrollersareintegratedonthesystemboard.Theyprovideaninterfaceforconnectingto
a10Mbps,100Mbps,or1000Mbpsnetworkandprovidefull-duplex(FDX)capability,whichenables
simultaneoustransmissionandreceptionofdataonthenetwork.
YoudonothavetosetanyjumpersorconguretheEthernetcontrollers.However,youmustinstalladevice
drivertoenabletheoperatingsystemtorecognizethecontrollers.
TheThinkServerEasyStartupprogramsimpliestheprocessofconguringRAIDandinstallingsupported
operatingsystemsanddevicedriversonyourserver.See“UsingtheThinkServerEasyStartupprogram”

Updatingthermware
ThermwareintheserverisperiodicallyupdatedandisavailablefordownloadontheLenovoWebsite.

Whenyoureplaceadeviceintheserver,youmighthavetoeitherupdatetheserverwiththelatestversionof
thermwarethatisstoredinmemoryonthedeviceorreashtheBIOS,theTMMrmware,andtheFRU/SDR.

TheFirmwareUpdaterprogramenablesyoutomaintainyoursystemrmwareup-to-dateandhelpsyou
avoidunnecessaryoutages.
