4.3 Configuring Alert Settings
The Alert feature warns you whenever an activity or an incident occurs during certain period of time or if
there is a video loss from a camera for extended period of time or if the camera view is either too bright
or too dark.
For example, if there is an activity on a weekend when the premises are closed or a camera has suddenly
stopped streaming then you must be alerted immediately. This feature will search for such events and
alert you through e-mails.

4.3.1 Activity Alerts
You must choose a time frame during which the activity should be detected to alert. The application
allows defining multiple alert windows. Each alert window has a start and end time associated with it and
can be configured for specified days of a week. If any activity occurs during this alert window for the
selected cameras, the videos are recorded as alarm videos and if the e-mail settings are configured, an e-
mail is sent with the snapshot of the video.
Note: The activity alert settings do not affect your recordings. The recording continues as
configured irrespective of these settings.
Any activity that occurs within the viewing range of the camera and within the specified time frame will
be raised as an alarm. You will receive an alert message through an e-mail. Any activity detected as an
alarm will be recorded as an alarm recording. This alarm can be viewed either on List View or Timeline
View.
