Monitor.

8.ClickProperties.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconrmation,typethepassword

orprovideconrmation.

9.ClicktheDrivertab.

10.ClickUpdateDriver.

11.ClickBrowsemycomputerfordriversoftware,andthenclickLetmepickfromalistofdevice

driversonmycomputer.

12.CleartheShowcompatiblehardwarecheckbox.

13.SelectManufacturerandModelforyourmonitor.Ifyoucannotndyourmonitorinthelist,stopthe

installationofthisdriverandusethedrivershippedwithyourmonitor.

14.Afterupdatingthedriver,clickClose.

15.ClickOK.

Note:Tochangethecolorsettings,right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.ClickAdvanced

Settings,selecttheMonitortab,thensetColors.

Considerationsforattachinganexternalmonitor

•Wheninstallinganoperatingsystem,youmustinstallthedisplaydriverforyourmonitorthatissupplied

withthecomputer,andtheMonitorINFlethatissuppliedwiththeexternalmonitor.

•Ifyousetaresolutionhigherthantheresolutionyouareusingonthepanel,anduseapanelthatdoesnot

supportthatresolution,takeadvantageofthevirtualscreenfunction,whichenablesyoutodisplayonlya

partofthehigh-resolutionscreenimageyourcomputerproduces.Youcanseeotherpartsoftheimage

bymovingthescreenwiththeTrackPointpointingdeviceorotherpointingdevice.

•Iftheexternalmonitoryouareusingisoutdated,theresolutionandtherefreshratemaybelimited.

UsingtheDVImonitor

Ifyourcomputerisattachedtooneofthefollowingoptionalexpansionunits,youcanconnectaDVImonitor

toyourcomputerthroughtheDVIconnectorofthatunit:

•ThinkPadMiniDockSeries3

•ThinkPadMiniDockPlusSeries3

•MiniDockSeries3withUSB3.0

•MiniDockPlusSeries3withUSB3.0

Notes:

•ThescreenmodethatcanbeuseddependsonthespecicationsoftheDVImonitor.

•BeforeyouattachtheDVImonitor,ensurethatthecomputerisattachedtotheexpansionunitand

thesystemworksproperly.
