UsingWiMAX
SomeThinkPadnotebookcomputerscomewithabuilt-inwirelessLANcardintegratingWiMAXtechnology.
WiMAX,along-rangewirelessdatatransmissiontechnologybasedonthe802.16standard,providesyou
withalasttimebroadbandconnectivitysimilartothatofferedbycableorADSL,butwithouttheneedto
physicallyconnectacabletothepersonalcomputer.
TousetheWiMAXfeature,starttheAccessConnectionsprogram.
Checkingwirelessconnectionstatus
YoucancheckyourcomputerwirelessconnectionstatusandwirelesssignalstrengththroughtheAccess
Connectionsgaugeonthetaskbar,orthroughtheAccessConnectionsiconandwirelessstatusiconon
thetaskbar.
AccessConnectionsGauge
TheAccessConnectionsGaugeonthetaskbardisplaysthesignalstrengthandstatusofyourwireless
connection.
