Replacingthebattery
Attention:Donotopenyourcomputerorattemptanyrepairbeforereadingandunderstandingthe
“Importantsafetyinformation”onpagev.
Yourcomputerhasaspecialtypeofmemorythatmaintainsthedate,time,andsettingsforbuilt-infeatures,
suchasparallel-portassignments(configuration).Abatterykeepsthisinformationactivewhenyouturn
offthecomputer.
Thebatterynormallyrequiresnochargingormaintenancethroughoutitslife;however,nobatterylasts
forever.Ifthebatteryfails,thedate,time,andconfigurationinformation(includingpasswords)arelost.An
errormessageisdisplayedwhenyouturnonthecomputer.
Refertothe“Lithiumbatterynotice”intheSafety,Warranty,andSetupGuideforinformationaboutreplacing
anddisposingofthebattery.
Toreplacethebattery,dothefollowing:
1.Turnoffthecomputeranddisconnectallpowercordsfromelectricaloutlets.
