Settingthemonitortypes

Tosetyourmonitortype,dothefollowing:

1.Connecttheexternalmonitortothemonitorconnector,andthenconnectthemonitortoanelectrical

outlet.

2.Turnontheexternalmonitor.

3.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.

Note:Ifyourcomputercannotdetecttheexternalmonitor,clicktheDetectbutton.

4.Clicktheiconforthedesiredmonitor(theMonitor-2iconisfortheexternalmonitor).

5.SetResolution.

6.ClickAdvancedSettings.

7.ClicktheMonitortab.Checkthemonitorinformationwindowtomakesurethatthemonitortypeis

correct.Ifitis,clickOKtoclosethewindow;otherwisedothefollowing:

8.Ifmorethantwomonitortypesaredisplayed,selectGenericPnPMonitororGenericNon-PnP

Monitor.

9.ClickProperties.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconrmation,typethepassword

orprovideconrmation.

10.ClicktheDrivertab.

11.ClickUpdateDriver.

12.ClickBrowsemycomputerfordriversoftware,andthenclickLetmepickfromalistofdevice

driversonmycomputer.

13.CleartheShowcompatiblehardwarecheckbox.

14.SelectManufacturerandModelforyourmonitor.Ifyoucannotndyourmonitoronthelist,stopthe

installationofthisdriverandusethedrivershippedwithyourmonitor.

15.Afterupdatingthedriver,clickClose.

16.ClickOK.

Note:Tochangethecolorsettings,right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.ClickAdvanced

Settings,selecttheMonitortab,thensetColors.

Considerationsforattachinganexternalmonitor

•Wheninstallinganoperatingsystem,youmustinstallthedisplaydriverforyourmonitorthatissupplied

withthecomputer,andthemonitorINFlethatissuppliedwiththeexternalmonitor.

•Ifyousetaresolutionhigherthantheresolutionyouareusingonthepanel,anduseapanelthatdoesnot

supportthatresolution,takeadvantageofthevirtualscreenfunction,whichenablesyoutodisplayonlya

partofthehigh-resolutionscreenimageyourcomputerproduces.Youcanseeotherpartsoftheimage

bymovingthescreenwiththeTrackPointpointingdeviceoranotherpointingdevice.

Note:Thevirtualscreenfunctionisnotsupported.

•Iftheexternalmonitoryouareusingisoutdated,theresolutionandtherefreshratemightbelimited.

ThissectionintroducestheExtenddesktopfunctionthatenablesyoutodisplayoutput(thesameordifferent)

onboththecomputerdisplayandanexternalmonitor.
