TipsforusingthewirelessLANfeature
•PlaceyourcomputersothatthereareasfewobstaclesaspossiblebetweenthewirelessLANaccess
pointandthecomputer.
•ForthebestconnectionofthewirelessLANfeature,openyourcomputerdisplaytoanangleofslightly
morethan90degrees.
•Ifyouusethewirelessfeature(the802.11standard)ofyourcomputersimultaneouslywithaBluetooth
option,datatransmissionspeedcanbedelayedandtheperformanceofthewirelessfeaturecanbe
degraded.
Wirelessnetworkingsetup
Tousethebuilt-inwirelessnetworkcard(the802.11standard)tocommunicate,startAccessConnections.
Note:BeforeyoustartsettingupwirelessnetworkingconnectionsbyusingAccessConnections,obtaina
NetworkName(SSID)andyourencryptioninformationfromyournetworkadministrator.
AccessConnections,aconnectivityassistantprogram,caneasilyenableonenetworkcardanddisablethe
othercardsondemand.Aftersettingupyourwirelessnetworkingconnection,youcanusetheprogram
toquicklyswitchthenetworksettings.
UsingBluetooth
IfyourcomputerisequippedwiththeIntegratedBluetoothfeatures,youcanenableordisablethefeatures
bypressingF9.IfyoupressF9,alistofwirelessfeaturesisdisplayed.Youcanenableordisablethe
Bluetoothfeatureswithasingleclick.
TocongureaBluetoothdeviceormanageconnectionsettings,youcanuseBluetoothDevicesinControl
Panel.ToaccessBluetoothDevicesinControlPanel,clickStart➙ControlPanel➙HardwareandSound
➙DevicesandPrinters.
TosenddatatoaBluetooth-enableddevice,dothefollowing:
1.Right-clickthedatathatyouwanttosend.
2.SelectSendTo➙BluetoothDevices.
Fordetails,refertotheWindowshelpinformationsystem.
Note:Ifyouusethewirelessfeature(the802.11standard)ofyourcomputersimultaneouslywithaBluetooth
option,datatransmissionspeedcanbedelayedandtheperformanceofthewirelessfeaturecanbe

Checkingwirelessconnectionstatus
YoucancheckyourcomputerwirelessconnectionstatusthroughtheAccessConnectionsgaugeonthe
taskbar,orthroughtheAccessConnectionsiconandwirelessstatusicononthetaskbar.
AccessConnectionsGauge
TheAccessConnectionsgaugeonthetaskbardisplaysthesignalstrengthandstatusofyourwireless
connection.
Note:TodisplaytheAccessConnectionsgaugeonthetaskbar,seetheAccessConnectionshelp
informationsystem.
Youcanndmoredetailedinformationaboutthesignalstrengthandstatusofyourwirelessconnection
byopeningAccessConnectionsorbyright-clickingtheAccessConnectionsgaugeonthetaskbarand
selectingViewStatusofWirelessConnection.
