Thissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtoreplacethecoverpresenceswitch,alsoknownasintrusion
switch.
Toreplacethecoverpresenceswitch,dothefollowing:
1.Turnoffthecomputeranddisconnectallpowercordsfromelectricaloutlets.
2.Removethecomputercover.See“Removingthecomputercover”onpage32.
3.Removethefrontbezel.See“Removingandreinstallingthefrontbezel”onpage32.
4.Locatethecoverpresenceswitch.See“Locatingcomponents”onpage11.
5.Disconnectthecoverpresenceswitchcablefromthesystemboard.
6.Presstheclip1asshownandliftthecoverpresenceswitchuptoremoveitfromthechassis.
