Aproblemoccursonly
occasionallyandisdifcultto
diagnose.
1.Makesurethat:
Allcablesandcordsareconnectedsecurelytotherearoftheserverand
attacheddevices.
Whentheserveristurnedon,airisowingfromthefangrille.Ifthereisno
airow,thefanisnotworking.Thiscancausetheservertooverheatand
shutdown.
2.Checkthesystem-errorlogorIMMsystemeventlog(see“POST”onpage19).
Theserverresets(restarts)
occasionally.
1.IftheresetoccursduringPOSTandthePOSTwatchdogtimerisenabled(click
SystemSettings-->IntegratedManagementModule-->POSTWatchdog
TimerintheUEFISetupUtilityprogramtoseethePOSTwatchdogsetting),
makesurethatsufcienttimeisallowedinthewatchdogtimeoutvalue(POST
WatchdogTimer).IftheservercontinuestoresetduringPOST,see“POST”

2.Iftheresetoccursaftertheoperatingsystemstarts,disableanyautomaticserver
restart(ASR)utilitiesorASRdevicesthatmaybeinstalled.
