•StartOptions
Selectthischoicetovieworchangethestartoptions,includingthestartupsequence,keyboardNumLock
state,PXEbootoption,andPCIdevicebootpriority.Changesinthestartupoptionstakeeffectwhenyou
starttheserver.
Thestartupsequencespeciestheorderinwhichtheserverchecksdevicestondabootrecord.The
serverstartsfromtherstbootrecordthatitnds.Forexample,youcandeneastartupsequencethat
checksforadiscintheDVDdrive,thencheckstheharddiskdrive,andthenchecksanetworkadapter.
ThischoiceisonthefullSetupUtilitymenuonly.
•BootManager
Selectthischoicetoview,add,delete,orchangethedevicebootpriority,bootfromale,selecta
one-timeboot,orresetthebootordertothedefaultsetting.
Iftheserverhas®WakeonLANhardwareandsoftwareandtheoperatingsystemsupports®Wakeon
LANfunctions,youcanspecifyastartupsequenceforthe®WakeonLANfunctions.Forexample,you
candeneastartupsequencethatchecksforadiscintheCD-RW/DVDdrive,thenchecksthehard
diskdrive,andthenchecksanetworkadapter.
•SystemEventLogs
SelectthischoicetoentertheSystemEventManager,whereyoucanviewtheerrormessagesinthe
systemeventlogs.Youcanusethearrowkeystomovebetweenpagesintheerrorlog.
ThesystemeventlogscontainalleventanderrormessagesthathavebeengeneratedduringPOST,by
thesystems-managementinterfacehandler,andbythesystemserviceprocessor.Runthediagnostic
programstogetmoreinformationabouterrorcodesthatoccur.
Important:Ifthesystem-errorLEDonthefrontoftheserverislitbuttherearenoothererrorindications,
cleartheIMMsystem-eventlog.Also,afteryoucompletearepairorcorrectanerror,cleartheIMM
system-eventlogtoturnoffthesystem-errorLEDonthefrontoftheserver.
