Toremovethe2.5-inchdrivesbackplane,completethefollowingsteps:
1.Readthesafetyinformationin“ImportantSafetyInformation”onpage1and“Guidelinesfortrained
servicetechnicians”onpage115.
2.Turnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
3.Removetheserverfromtherackandplaceitonaat,static-protectivesurface.
4.Pulltheharddiskdrivesoutoftheserverslightlytodisengagethemfromthebackplane.
5.Removethecover(see“Removingandinstallingthecover”onpage119).
6.Liftthebackplaneorbackplateoutoftheserver.
7.Disconnectthebackplanecables:
•DisconnecttheSAS/SATAcontrollercablefromthebackplane.
•Disconnectthepowercablefromthebackplane.
•Disconnectthesystemboardcablefromthebackplane.
8.Ifyouareinstructedtoreturnthebackplaneorbackplate,followallpackaginginstructions,anduseany
packagingmaterialsforshippingthataresuppliedtoyou.
InstallingtheSASbackplane(2.5-inchdrives)
Toinstallthereplacement2.5-inchhot-swapdrivesbackplane,completethefollowingsteps.
