1.Connectthepowercabletothereplacementbackplaneorbackplate.
2.Reconnectthebackplaneorbackplatecables:
•Iftheserverisahot-swapmodel,reconnecttheSAS/SATAcontrollersignalcabletothebackplane.
•Iftheserverisasimple-swapmodelthatcontainsastandardSATAbackplate,reconnecttheSATA
cabletothesystemboard.See“System-boardinternalconnectors”onpage108forthelocation
oftheSATAconnectorsonthesystemboard.
Note:MakesurethatthecabledrivenumberonthebackplatematchestheSATAconnectornumber
onthesystemboard.
•Iftheserverisasimple-swapmodelthatcontainsaSATARAIDbackplate,reconnecttheSAS
signalcabletotheSAS/SATAcontroller.
3.Slidethebackplaneorbackplateintothecardguides,makingsurethatanynearbywiresorcables
arenottrappedorpinched.
4.Pressrmlyuntilthebackplaneorbackplateisfullyseated.
5.Installtheharddiskdrives.
