11.Installthecover(see“Removingandinstallingthecover”onpage119).
12.Slidetheserverintotherack.
13.Reconnecttheacpowercordintotheconnectoronthebackofthepowersupply.
14.Reconnectallexternalcablesthatweredisconnected.
15.Connecttheotherendoftheacpowercordintoaproperlygroundedelectricaloutlet.
16.Pressthepower-controlbutton(see“Turningontheserver”onpage113.
17.Makesurethatthepower-onLEDonthefrontoftheserverislit.
Replacingafanassembly
Theservercomeswithvereplaceablecoolingfans.Usethefollowingprocedurestoreplaceafan.
Removingafanassembly
Toremoveanyofthevereplaceablefans,completethefollowingsteps:
1.Readthesafetyinformationin“ImportantSafetyInformation”onpage1and“Guidelinesfortrained
servicetechnicians”onpage115.
2.Turnofftheserverandallperipheraldevices,anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
3.Removetheserverfromtherackandremovethecover(see“Removingandinstallingthecover”on
page119).
4.Reconnectthepowercord;then,turnontheserver.
Attention:Operatingtheserverforextendedperiodsoftime(morethan30minutes)withthecover
removedmightdamageservercomponents.
5.DeterminewhichfantoreplacebycheckingtheLEDsonthesystemboard(see“System-boardLEDs”on
page112
);alitLEDindicatesthefantoreplace.
6.Turnofftheserver;then,disconnectthepowercordagain.
7.RemovetheDIMMairbafe(see“RemovingandinstallingtheDIMMairbafe”onpage121).
8.Removethefailedfanfromtheserver:
a.Disconnectthefancablefromthesystemboard(see“System-boardinternalconnectors”onpage
108).Youmayneedtodisengagethecablesfromcableretentionclips.Notetheroutingofthefan
cabletotheconnector;youwillhavetoroutethefancablethesamewaywhenyouinstallthefan.
b.Graspthetopofthefanwithyourindexngerandthumbandliftthefanoutoftheserver.
