Removingandinstallingthecover

Usethefollowingprocedurestoremoveandinstallthecover:

Removingthecover

Toremovetheservercover,dothefollowing:

1.Readthesafetyinformationin“ImportantSafetyInformation”onpage1and“Guidelinesfortrained

servicetechnicians”onpage115.

2.Turnofftheserverandperipheraldevicesanddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables,if

necessary.

Note:Whenyoudisconnectthepowersourcefromtheserver,youwilllosetheabilitytoviewtheLEDs

becausetheLEDswillnotbelitwiththepowersourceremoved.Beforedisconnectingthepowersource,

makesuretonotewhichLEDsarelit,includingtheLEDsthatarelitontheoperatorinformationpaneland

LEDsthatarelitinsidetheserveronthesystemboard.

3.Iftheserverhasbeeninstalledinarack,slidetheserveroutfromtherackenclosure.SeetheRack

InstallationInstructionsthatcomewiththeserverforinformationaboutremovingtheserverfromtherack.

4.Pressdownrmlyonthetwobluetabs1oneachsideofthetopofthecoverandslidethecovertoward

therearoftheserveruntilthecoverhasdisengagedfromthechassis.

5.Lifttheservercoverofftheserverandsetitaside.

Installingthecover

Attention:Forpropercoolingandairow,replacetheservercoverbeforeyouturnontheserver.

Toreplacetheservercover,dothefollowing:

1.Alignthecoverovertheserver(towardtherearoftheserver)untilthecoveredgesslipinposition

overthechassis.

2.Pressdownonthetwobluetabsonthefrontofthecover,whileslidingthecoverforwardtowardthe

frontoftheserveruntilthecoveriscompletelyclosed.
