havethelatestrmwareoracopyofthepre-existingrmwarebeforeyouproceed.See“Updatingthe

Toinstallthesystemboard,completethefollowingsteps:
1.Readthesafetyinformationin“ImportantSafetyInformation”onpage1and“Guidelinesfortrained
servicetechnicians”onpage115.
2.Alignthesystemboardwiththechassis,andreplacethescrewsthatsecurethesystemboard.
3.Reinstallthemicroprocessorandheatsink(see“Installingthemicroprocessor”onpage141).
4.ReinstalltheDIMMs(see“Installingamemorymodule”onpage125).
5.ReinstalltheDIMMairbafe(see“RemovingandinstallingtheDIMMairbafe”onpage121).
6.Ifnecessary,reinstallServeRAID-BR10ilSAS/SATAcontroller(see“InstallinganIBMServeRAID-BR10il
SAS/SATAcontroller”onpage159).
7.ReinstallthePCIriser-cardassembliesandPCIcards,ifanywereinstalled(see“Installingtheriser-card
assembly”onpage157and“InstallingaPCIcard”onpage132).
8.Reinstallthevirtualmediakey(see“Replacingthevirtualmediakey”onpage165).
9.Reinstallthehypervisorashdevice(see“InstallingaUSBembeddedhypervisorashdevice”onpage

10.Reconnectallcablestothesystemboardthatweredisconnected.
11.Installthecover(see“Removingandinstallingthecover”onpage119).
12.Slidetheserverintotherack.
13.Reconnectthepowercordsandanycablesthatyouremoved.
14.Turnontheperipheraldevicesandtheserver.
Important:Performthefollowingupdates:
•EitherupdatetheserverwiththelatestRAIDrmwareorrestorethepre-existingrmwarefromadiskette
orCDimage.
•UpdatetheUUID(see“UpdatingtheUniversalUniqueIdentier(UUID)”onpage168.
