Installingahot-swapharddiskdrive

Toinstallahot-swapharddiskdrive,completethefollowingsteps.

Note:Ifyourserverhasonlyonehot-swapharddiskdrive,installitintheleftorupper-leftdrivebay.

Attention:Toavoiddamagetotheharddiskdriveconnectors,makesurethattheservercoverisinplace

andfullyclosedwheneveryouinstallorremoveaharddiskdrive.

1.Readthesafetyinformationin“ImportantSafetyInformation”onpage1and“Guidelinesfortrained

servicetechnicians”onpage115

2.Makesurethattheservercoverisinplaceandfullyclosed.

Attention:Tomaintainpropersystemcooling,donotoperatetheserverformorethan10minutes

withouteitheradriveorllerpanelinstalledineachbay.

3.Removethellerpanelfromtheemptydrivebayifnecessary.

4.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainsthedrivetoanyunpaintedmetalsurfaceontheserver.

Then,removethedrivefromthestatic-protectivepackageandplaceitonastatic-protectivesurface.

5.Installtheharddiskdriveinthehot-swapbay:

a.Makesurethatthetrayhandleisopen(thatis,perpendiculartothefrontofthedrive).

b.Alignthedriveassembly3withtheguiderailsinthebay.
