ToentertheLSIMegaRAIDBIOScongurationutility,dothefollowing:
1.Duringthecomputerstartup,followtheinstructionsonthescreen.
2.PressCtrl+HtoentertheCONTROLLERSELECTIONwindow.
3.Selectthecontrolleryouwanttocongure,andthenclickStarttoentertheLSIMegaRAIDBIOS
congurationutility.
CreatingRAIDvolumesusingtheLSIMegaRAIDBIOSconguration
utility
ThissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtocreateRAIDvolumesusingtheLSIMegaRAIDBIOS
congurationutility.
TocreateRAIDvolumesusingtheLSIMegaRAIDBIOScongurationutility,dothefollowing:
1.ClickCongurationWizardontheWebBIOSmainscreentoentertheChoosingtheConguration
Typewindow.
2.Presstheupanddownarrowkeystoselectoneofthethreecongurationtypes:
•ClearConguration:Cleartheexistingconguration.
•NewConguration:Cleartheexistingcongurationandcreatenewconguration.
•AddConguration:Retaintheexistingstoragecongurationandaddnewharddiskdrives.The
newcongurationwillnotcauseanydataloss.
3.SelectAddConguration,andthenclickNext.Thefollowingtwooptionsaredisplayedinthe
CongurationMethodwindow.
•ManualConguration:Manuallycreateharddiskdrivegroupsandvirtualharddiskdrives,and
setparameters.
•AutomaticConguration:AutomaticallycreateanoptimalRAIDconguration.
4.SelectManualConguration,andthenclickNext.TheDriveGroupDenitionwindowisdisplayed.To
createharddiskdrivegroups,dothefollowing:
a.Selectoneormoreharddiskdrivesforthegroup(keeppressingCtrlwhileselectingmorethan
oneharddiskdrive).
b.ClickAddToArraytomovetheselectedharddiskdrivestoDriveGroups.
c.ClickAcceptDGtocreatetheharddiskdrivegroup.
d.Repeattheabovestepsifyouwanttocreatemorethanoneharddiskdrivegroup.
5.ClickNext.TheSpanDenitionwindowisdisplayed.Selecttheharddiskdrivegroupthatyouwant
toaddtoaspan,andthenclickAddtoSPAN.Repeatthisstepuntilyouhaveselectedallthehard
diskdrivegroupsyouwant.
6.ClickNext.TheVirtualDriveDenitionwindowisdisplayed.Changethevirtualharddiskdriveoptions
fromthedefaultsettingslistedonthescreentothesettingsyouwant.ClickAccept,andthenfollow
theinstructionsonthescreentocustomizeyoursettings.
7.ClickNext,andthePreviewwindowisdisplayed.
8.Verifyyoursettings,andthenclickAccept.
9.ClickYestosavetheconguration.
