Thissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtoreplacethekeyboardormouse.
Toreplacethekeyboardormouse,dothefollowing:
1.Disconnecttheoldkeyboardcableormousecablefromthecomputer.
2.ConnectanewkeyboardormousetooneoftheUSBconnectorsonthecomputer.Dependingonwhere
youwanttoconnectthenewkeyboardormouse,see“Locatingconnectors,controls,andindicatorson
thefrontofyourcomputer”onpage6or“Locatingconnectorsontherearofyourcomputer”onpage8.

Completingthepartsreplacement
Aftercompletingtheinstallationorreplacementforallparts,youneedtoreinstallthecomputercoverand
reconnectcables.Dependingonthepartsyouinstalledorreplaced,youmightneedtoconrmtheupdated
informationintheSetupUtilityprogram.RefertoChapter7“UsingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage67
.
Toreinstallthecomputercoverandreconnectcablestoyourcomputer,dothefollowing:
1.Ensurethatallcomponentshavebeenreassembledcorrectlyandthatnotoolsorloosescrewsareleft
insideyourcomputer.See“Locatingcomponents”onpage9
forthelocationsofvariouscomponentsin
yourcomputer.
2.Ifyouhaveremovedthefrontbezel,reinstallit.
3.Ensurethatthecablesareroutedcorrectlybeforereinstallingthecomputercover.Keepcablesclearof
thehingesandsidesofthecomputerchassistoavoidinterferencewithreinstallingthecomputercover.
4.Alignthecoverwiththechassis,andthenclosethecovertoengagethecoverlatch.Usethekeys
attachedattherearofyourcomputertolockthekeylockthatisbuiltintothecomputercover.
5.Ifthereisapadlockavailable,lockthecomputercover.See“Lockingthecomputercover”onpage23.
6.Ifthereisanintegratedcablelockavailable,lockthecomputer.See“Attachinganintegratedcable
lock”onpage26.
7.Reconnecttheexternalcablesandpowercordstothecomputer.See“Locatingconnectorsontherear
