Use and Care Manual

Cleaning & Care Instructions for Patio Leisure Line Furniture
The following guidelines have been compiled to help you clean dirt from the plastic lumber
but also disinfect and eliminate contagions.
Cleaning Guidelines
The durability, hardiness and ease of maintenance are
some of the greatest advantages of poly lumber. Not
only will it not rot or corrode, it is also exceptionally
easy to clean.
For general cleaning, scrub the boards with a soap and water
solution using a soft sponge or plastic bristled brush. You can use
a soft-bristled toothbrush to clean spaces that are hard to reach.
Rinse and thoroughly dry the furniture with a towel to or wipe
down with a clean, soft cloth to avoid leaving water marks.
To simply remove surface dust from the furniture, hose it down
with cold, clear water.
For stubborn marks, a Magic Eraser™ may be used. For tough
stains, including rust spots from contact with iron, the boards can
be scrubbed with Iron Out™. These can be found at your local
home improvement store.
To deep clean your plastic lumber, a pressure washer can be used
on the lightest setting. It is not recommended to use more than
1,500psi. Keep the tip of the pressure washer at least 10-12
inches from the furniture so it does not damage the lumber.
Disinfectant Guidelines
Our plastic lumber doesn’t harbor contagions, so
scrubbing the surface of our product with the
following guidelines is all that’s required to disinfect it.
To disinfect and protect against viruses lingering on the surface
of the lumber, the CDC recommends using a bleach solution of 5
tablespoons (1/3 cup) bleach per gallon of water or 4 teaspoons
of bleach per quart of water.
Always wear gloves and eye protection when using bleach and
never mix it with anything but water. This solution will lose its
effectiveness in about 24 hours, so a new batch must be made
each day.
Rubbing alcohol of at least 70% may also be used to wipe down
and disinfect surfaces.
Using either the bleach solution or rubbing alcohol, scrub the
surface of the lumber with a wet, soft cloth or sponge. The surface
must remain visibly wet for at least 4 minutes, allowing it to dry on
its own.
After 4 minutes, the surface may be rinsed thoroughly with water
and wiped dry to eliminate water marks.
Focus on high-touch areas such as armrests and chair backs,
those areas that come in contact with hands the most.
About these guidelines
Always read and follow the product manufacturers’ specific instructions before using any cleaning product. If using
alternative cleaning solutions than those outlined above, it is recommended to test the solution on an
inconspicuous area of the lumber to make sure it does not harm the surface.
These guidelines may not cover every care and cleaning scenario. For additional questions about care and disinfecting,
