4.4.1 The retort
4. Instrument Setup
Retort locking
• Theretortlocksautomaticallywhenaprogramisstarted.
• Unlockitbypressingontheunlockingmechanismswitch
(8.
2) below the screen (Fig. 29).
• Amessageboxappearsonthescreen;YES must be entered
here to conrm unlocking of the retort while a process is in
progress.
• WhentheYES button is pressed (Fig. 29), the reagent vapors
are removed by suction, ltered and the uid level in the
retort is lowered. Then the pin (43) unlocks the handle (8.1)
and the retort can be opened.
• PressingNO continues the process.

• Tocontinuetheprocessafteropeningtheretort,movethe
handle back into the locking position (Fig. 28). Then press
the CONTINUE button on the screen.

• Toopentheretort,twistforwardtheblackhandle(8.1) on
the retort lid (4) (arrow in Fig. 27). The lid opens upwards.

Pin (43) can also be unlocked manually - e.g.
after a power failure. To do so, push down the
pin using the Allen key provided.
Keep your distance when opening the retort
lid, particularly if the reagents are heated.
Also avoid breathing in the vapors.
