Symptom Possible Cause
ANTENNAS AND RF SIGNAL STRENGTH
RF Level is weak Receiver may need to be moved or reoriented.
Antennaontransmitterorreceivermaybedefectiveorpoorly
connected-doublecheckantennas.
Improperlengthofantenna,orwrongantennaontransmitteror
receiver.UHFwhipantennasaregenerallyabout3to5incheslong.
UHFhelicalantennasmaybeshorter,butareoftenlessefcient.
No RF Signal Make certain frequency switches on transmitter match the receiver
frequency setting.
Checkbatteryintransmitter.
AUDIO SIGNAL QUALITY
Poor signal to noise ratio Transmitter gain set too low.
The noise may not be in the wireless system. Turn the transmitter
audiogainallthewaydownandseeifthenoiseremains.Ifthe
noiseremains,thenturnthepoweroffatthetransmitterandseeifit
remains.Ifthenoiseisstillpresent,thentheproblemisnotinthe
transmitter.
Ifnoiseisstillpresentwhenthetransmitteristurnedoff,trylowering
theaudiooutputlevelontheSRa5Pandseeifthenoiselowers
correspondingly.Ifthenoiseremains,theproblemisnotinthe
receiver.
Receiveroutputistoolowfortheinputofthedeviceitisfeeding.
TryincreasingtheoutputleveloftheSRa5Pandloweringthe
inputgainonthedevicetheSRa5Pisfeeding.
Distortion Transmitterinputgaintoohigh.Checkand/orreadjustinputgainon
transmitteraccordingtotheLEDsonthetransmitterandthenverify
the setting with the audio meter in the main window.
AudiooutputleveltoohighforthedevicetheSRa5Pisfeeding.
LowertheoutputleveloftheSRa5P.
Bad frequency response or generally poor audio quality
Ensurethereceiverissettothecompatibilitymodethatmatches
the transmitter in use.
