SIXPACK General Technical Description The SIXPACK system is a high performance, 6-chan nel receiver multicoupler designed primarily for motion picture and television production in the studio and in the field. The design provides antenna and power distribution for up to six Lectrosonics compact diversity receivers, such as the UCR411A model. Other receiv ers built in the same housing will also work provided the frequency is within the bandwidth of the filters.
Multi-Channel Wireless System Front Panel RF Signal Distribution Antenna distribution is provided by the master and slave RF distribution modules with standard 50 Ohm BNC jacks and coaxial leads on the front panel. Whip antennas can be mounted directly onto the modules, however, optimum performance is usually achieved using external, remote antennas with low loss coaxial cable.
SIXPACK Rear Panel Serial/Frequency Label - Located on the rear side of each distribution module housing. Indicates the serial number and the RF passband of the distribution modules. IMPORTANT - The frequency of the receivers installed in the unit must fall within the passband indicated on the label. Serious signal loss results if the receiver frequencies are outside the RF passband.
Multi-Channel Wireless System Receiver Installation The SIXPACK system is designed to contain up to six receivers. Installation of these receivers is quite simple. First, loosen but do not remove, the four large counter sunk phillips head screws in the front panel and the four in the rear panel of the housing. Insert the receiv ers, front panel first (the end with the antenna connec tion) through the rear panel. Seat the front end of the receiver into the recessed lip of the front panel.
SIXPACK Troubleshooting SYMPTOM POSSIBLE CAUSE NO POWER LEDs OR AUDIO 1) Power switch in the OFF position. Switch to EXT or EXT OR BAT. 1) Power leads in back not connected to receivers. 2) Receiver power switches turned off. 1) Gel-cell battery charge too low. Either use an external 12 to 16 VDC power supply, or operate on 110 to 240 VAC with the CH-80 charger.
Multi-Channel Wireless System Antennas and Accessories ALP Series LPDA Antennas Three high quality directional antennas are available to extend operating range. The LPDA (log periodic dipole array) design provides 4.5 dB of gain with a coverage pattern similar to a cardioid microphone.
SIXPACK Service and Repair If your system malfunctions, you should attempt to correct or isolate the trouble before concluding that the equip ment needs repair. Make sure you have followed the setup procedure and operating instructions. Check the inter connecting cables and then go through the Troubleshooting section in this manual.
