instruct the AM8 that the Auto vs. Direct status of each AM8 input shall be selected by LecNet commands, not by the 
dipswitches on the rear panel. 
If more than one LecNet device appears in the device list, you will need to select the proper device first, then the 
action, as only actions pertaining to the selected device appear in the action list. 
When the Edit LecNet Action Map Entry window is filled in as shown, click OK.  A summary of the new translation 
should appear in the main window’s action map, as shown in the figure for step 9. 
5. From the main window’s Action Map frame, click New... 
again. Change the settings to translate a pulse on AXlink 
channel 2 to the AM8’s Auto/Direct Local action, as 
shown. When invoked, this action will instruct the AM8 
that the Auto vs. Direct status of each AM8 input shall be 
selected by the dipswitches on the rear panel, not by 
LecNet commands. This action does the opposite of the 
action described in step 4. 
When the Edit LecNet Action Map Entry window is filled in 
as shown, click OK.  A summary of the new translation 
should appear in the main window’s action map, as shown 
in the figure for step 9. 
6. From the main window’s Action Map frame, click New... 
again. Change the settings to translate a pulse on AXlink 
channel 3 to the AM8’s Auto/Direct All Direct action, as 
shown. When invoked, this action will instruct the AM8 to 
set all inputs to Direct mode, lighting all eight channel 
status LEDs. 
When the Edit LecNet Action Map Entry window is filled in 
as shown, click OK.  A summary of the new translation 
should appear in the main window’s action map, as shown 
in the figure for step 9. 
7. From the main window’s Action Map frame, click New... 
again. Change the settings to translate a pulse on AXlink 
channel 4 to the AM8’s Auto/Direct All Auto action, as 
shown. When invoked, this action will instruct the AM8 to 
set all inputs to Auto mode, extinguishing all eight channel 
status LEDs (provided there is no input signal). This action 
does the opposite of the action described in step 6. 
When the Edit LecNet Action Map Entry window is filled in 
as shown, click OK.  A summary of the new translation 
should appear in the main window’s action map, as shown 
in the figure for step 9.
