The Direction of an Object
The direction of an object from a point can be
expressed in terms of either cardinal direction or
azimuth. This watch includes both cardinal direction
and azimuth.
The 16 cardinal directions
Cardinal directions are the most commonly used
forms of directions. They include North, South, East
and West. This electronic compass has Primary (NE,
NW, SE, SW) and Secondary (NNE, ENE, ESE, SSE,
SSW, WSW, WNW, NNW) InterCardinal directions as
well. Cardinal direction is shown at the top right
corner.
The Azimuth
Azimuth is defined as the horizontal angle between
the North and the object measured clockwise. (The
North is 0 degree). Azimuth is shown in the middle
right.
