Instructions / Assembly

Fill potholes using a stone patch. Make sure you have clearly identified sidewalls (you can
use a chisel to create a border) and tamp in thoroughly. Allow 2 weeks prior to sealing
over. If water beads up on repair that means it is not ready for sealer.
SEAL
Before you begin make sure all repairs have properly cured. Pick a nice day that is warmer
than 40 F (at night) and no rain in the forecast for 36 hours. Make sure you have enough
sealer as you don’t want to run short. Buy an extra pail just in case. After your driveway
is clean and dry you are ready to go. On a hot day you can lightly mist the driveway off
and apply when damp. Using a squeegee start at the high end of the driveway
Stir Normally the pails will only need a quick mix but to be sure it’s good idea to flip over
the pail at least 24 hours prior to using the product. (Carefully inspect the lid to insure it
is secure before turning over). "Batch" or "box" the pails by having an empty bucket
there and mixing them all back and forth. This will ensure uniform consistency.
Premix 1/2 of the pails you expect to use then mix additional pails as needed. (Keep the
mixed pails covered as you work). Space the pails out every 5 or 6 feet down the
driveway so they are right there when you need them.
Pour (Before you start if you have Belgian block along sides or a concrete sidewalk at
end it’s a good idea to tape them off so you don’t spill on them). Working with gravity
start at the high end of your driveway, about 2 feet or so from garage, pour a bead
across the width of your driveway.
Once you have poured a bead across the driveway, use your squeegee to pull (DO NOT
push the squeegee as that causes the sealer to spray up as the rubber blade chatters)
the sealer back and forth across the width of your driveway. Make sure to apply steady
down pressure as you want to leave a thin coat (thick coats may track!). Make sure you
do not run the bead out keep it wet. Continue project and complete at one time.
Starting and stopping may cause shading differences due to asphalt temperature
changes.
Cure Your first coat is ready for foot traffic in 4 hours but stay off driveway with cars for
24 hours, 36 hours if you have a lot of shade. For second coat we recommend waiting
until next day as sun is at a low angle this time of year.
Clean up Therma Seal is water based so clean up with soap and water when
finished. Recycle empty pails.
CAUTION: Do not allow pails to freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
