This explosion proof light fixture is comprised of a 70 watt light head with a dual ended metal halide lamp mounted atop a 50" extended swing
arm made of 1 1/2" square steel tube with powder coat yellow finish for durability. The swing arm allows a total of 180 degrees horizontal
adjustment while the hinge bracket connecting the light to the arm provides both vertical and horizontal adjustment for a wide range of possible
positions. Included with this unit is 6' of wire to be used to connect this unit in compliance with NEC methods for Class I, Div. I locations. The
wire entrance is sealed and a 1/2 inch threaded NPT allows operators to make conduit connections at the base of the lamp head.
The lamp assembly includes a 70 watt metal halide bulb, internal ballast and aluminum finish reflector in a copper-free cast aluminum housing
with a thermoset powder coat finish. The shell, covers and sealed fittings are also made of copper-free aluminum. The lens is constructed of
3/4" thermal shock and impact resistant tempered glass and the housing contains threaded joints lubricated with non-drying lubricant. The metal
halide lamp has no filament and is thus highly resistant to damage from shocks or impacts, greatly reducing the chances of damage should the
lamp be dropped or hit, unlike incandescent lamps which may break or shatter. The lamp is rated at 2500+ hours of life, providing longer service
life than typical halogen lamps.
