6Safety Functions
The electronic components continuously monitor the proper function of the de-
vice. Device malfunctions are indicated with audible warning signals (beeps), er-
ror messages, and/or by blocking device functions.
6.1 Pressure Limitation at 450 mmHg
The pump generates a max. pressure of 450 mmHg to reach the max. flow capac-
ity during the irrigation mode. If external factors, for example, cause the pressure
to exceed the pressure limits, the roller wheel reverses in an attempt to reduce
the pressure.
Pressure limitation when using a day pa-
tient set
The wheel does not rotate backward to reduce the pressure if a day patient set is
used. If the actual pressure exceeds 450 mmHg, the motor stops and irrigation is
interrupted to prevent contamination.
6.2 Motor Cutout at 600 mmHg
The roller wheel is stopped if the pressure exceeds 600 mmHg for more than 5
seconds. The suction pump is also stopped in this state. Further irrigation is not
possible. The roller wheel and suction pump automatically restart when the pres-
sure has fallen below 600 mmHg.
6.3 Device Self-Test
After being switched on, the device performs a self-test of the sensors, the motor,
and electronic components. All LEDs light up. A long beep is emitted after the suc-
cessful device test.
A table listing a summary of possible error and warning messages is provided in
Chapter 14 Error and Warning Messages.
