the "sterile" or "non-sterile" nurse or medical technician. The indicated numbers
refer to the Fig. 5-6 "Elements of the suction/irrigation tube set" and Fig. 5-7 "In-
serting the suction/irrigation set".
Remove the tube set1. To be carried out by non-sterile technician:
Open the outer packaging of the tube set and let you remove the inner tube
packaging by sterile personnel and open.
Connect the instrument2. To be carried out by sterile technician:
Keep the instrument in the sterile area and hand the tube end with the tap
spikes (2) to the non-sterile technician.
Open the trumpet valve (12) of the suction and rinsing instrument.
Insert tube set3. To be carried out by non-sterile technician:
Before inserting, close both tube clamps (3) (Fig. 5-6 Elements of the suc-
tion/irrigation tube set) on the bags.
Switch device on. The power status LED on the ON switch lights up. Make
sure all tube sets are removed from the pump before switching the device
on. A long beep is emitted to signal the successful completion of the device
test and the tube can now be inserted.
Inserting the roller tube is depicted in Fig. 5-8 "Inserting the roller tube set" .
When inserting the roller tube, make sure not to damage the membranes of
the pressure chamber. Insert the pressure chamber (8) only if not pressur-
ized.
Insert the unpressurized pressure chamber (8) carefully into the right notch
of the tube retainer (16) up to the stop.
Place the roller tube (7) around the roller wheel.
Insert the tube adapter into the left section of the tube retainer by tighten-
ing the tube.
Make sure the tube adapter is firmly snapped into place! Irrigation and drain
tube must point away straight towards the front from the tube retainer.
Connect the suction tube to the suction tank (17)(see Fig. 5-7 "Inserting the suc-
tion/irrigation set").
5.7 Inserting a Day Patient Tube Set (NOT FOR SALE IN USA AND CHI-
NA)
The day patient tube set consists of two tube sections comprised of the day tube
and patient tube. The day tube establishes the tube connection between the ir-
rigation fluid bags and the patient tube. The day tube is inserted into the tube re-
tainer of the device and not replaced for the duration of one day between
surgeries and/or surgical procedures. Only the patient tube (tube connection be-
tween day tube and the instrument) must be replaced between surgical proce-
dures. Efficiency is increased with a day patient tube set if several surgeries are
to be performed on one day. Make sure to connect tubes as indicated by the
matching connectors.
CAUTION!
Use only original day patient tube sets of the manufacturer. Other day patient
tube set are not compatible with the pump!
