Chapter 1. Before You Start
1.1 Preface
The 802.11 b/g compliant WCB1000H5PX/WCB1010H5PX is an outdoor wireless device that can be used for three
purposes. It can be deployed as a fixed Point to Point wireless base station between buildings, a bridge between
LAN and wireless base station, or it can be used as a fixed wireless point to point between CPE and Internet
Service Provider.
The die-cast sealed WCB1000H5PX/WCB1010H5PX is compact in size and weatherproof. It comes with a
mounting kit, for pole or wall mount. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor usage with its 500mW output power,
which is higher than a typical indoor base station (100mW).
This User’s Manual provides instructions and reference material for getting started with
WCB1000H5PX/WCB1010H5PX. This guide will also show you how to connect WCB1000H5PX/WCB1010H5PX
to other network devices.
