1. Lay the GPR on its back. Remove the two screws and washers holding the two brackets together
as shown in the next figure.

2. Determine the appropriate GPR direction.
3. Install the two screws and lock washers. Tighten the screws to 30 inch-pounds (+ / - 2 inch-
pounds).
A CAUTION: If the meter’s pipe route prevents installing the GPR as described in this manual,
the GPR may be mounted in a remote location away from the meter, such as on a wall or a
gas pipe. The maximum cable length between the Index Cover Assembly and GPR must not
exceed 200 feet.
In a remote GPR Mounting environment, Pipe Bracket Kit 45-2478 may be used to install the
GPR on suitable plumbing pipes. Remote GPR mounting is beyond the scope of this manual.
