Open RadioShop on your computer.
Connect your local radio’s Lan Packet Protocol serial port to your computers serial port. Select
Communications>>Connect from the RadioShop main menu making sure you select the right
Com port and a Baud rate. The default baud rate for UtiliNet radios is 9600 bps. When you are
connected to the local radio, a Radio Configuration Report will be executed automatically and
displayed.
UtiliNet radios, including integrated meter modules, ship with a default network configuration that
must be updated to reflect your company’s unique network ID.
In order to communicate with a UtiliNet meter endpoint over-the-air, the locally connected radio
must be a member of the same network as the integrated meter radio module.
Adding new Radios to RadioShop
You will now need to add the meter radios to the RadioShop database. This is be done by
invoking the automatic discovery feature from the Radioshop main menu. Make sure your local
radio is highlighted in the network view and select Utilities>>Radio>>Discover Neighbors from
the RadioShop main menu. This will automatically populate RadioShop’s database with all
required information about the integrated meter module in order to establish over-the-air
communication. All visible UtiliNet radio modules will be automatically added to the network
view in RadioShop.
