LANCOM Advanced VoIP Client
ī Logon and Logoff
3 Logon and Logoff
This chapter describes how to start and logon to or logoff from LANCOM
Advanced VoIP Client.
3.1 Start, logon and logoff
When you call LANCOM Advanced VoIP Client, a logon to your provider is
automatically executed. You must have configured LANCOM Advanced VoIP
Client appropriately for this (see chapter 9.4,
Configuration of a SIP
account
,page154).
If you are working in a network, you must already have logged on as a user in
your Windows network. This usually takes place as soon as you start your PC
when you enter your user name and password. You can start LANCOM
Advanced VoIP Client after logging on to the network, provided that a valid
user license exists. LANCOM Advanced VoIP Client will first log you on to your
provider.
It is urgently recommended that you configure your LANCOM Advanced VoIP
Client in such a way that LANCOM Advanced VoIP Client is automatically
started together with the system start of your PC, in order to ensure that you
are directly available via LANCOM Advanced VoIP Client as soon as possible.
This is done by entering LANCOM Advanced VoIP Client in your PCās āStartupā
directory. This takes place during the installation of LANCOM Advanced VoIP
Client, if you use the standard settings.
If you have a screen saver activated on your PC, this will disappear when an
incoming call is received. If your screen saver is linked to the entry of a
password, then when an incoming call is received, you must first enter the
password before you can take the call on the LANCOM VoIP Client Headset or
via the speakers in combination with the microphone. If you have installed a
LANCOM VoIP USB Handset and the telephone rings, then all you have to do
is pick up the handset and proceed with the telephone call without having to
enter the password. The LANCOM Advanced VoIP Client user interface is
naturally only available to you on your PC after you have entered the
password.
