LANCOM Advanced VoIP Client
How does LANCOM Advanced VoIP Client work?
Using Internet Protocol (IP)
IP is the technology behind LANCOM Advanced VoIP Client and it is the
name for a specific type of data transfer. This new type of technology for
voice transmission (“Voice over IP”) provides the user with a high degree of
flexibility. It makes it possible to place telephone calls via the company’s
internal LAN (Local Area Network) as well as via the Internet. In this way, you
can reach colleagues at other distant company locations using the same
telephone and exchange functionalities you use to contact colleagues in the
same building.
In this case, however, a sufficiently dimensioned long-distance connection is
necessary in order to guarantee consistent voice quality.
