LANCOM Installation Guide Switches – Einleitung Einleitung DE Überblick LANCOM Switches sind die Grundlage für eine zuverlässige Infrastruktur. Die Switches umfassen zahlreiche intelligente Funktionen, mit denen Sie die Verfügbarkeit von geschäftskritischen Anwendungen verbessern, Ihre Daten schützen und die Bandbreite im Netzwerk optimieren können.
Netzwerkmanagement DE LANCOM Switches unterstützen die Konfiguration über eine Web-basierte Oberfläche oder CLI (Command Line Interface) über SSH oder Telnet. Eine Ausnahme sind Websmart Switches, deren Konfiguration nur über die Web-basierte Oberfläche erfolgt. Zusätzlich enthalten diese Switches einen eingebauten Netzwerk-Management-Agenten, welcher die Verwaltung über SNMP oder RMON (Gruppe 1, 2, 3, 9) erlaubt.
LANCOM Installation Guide Switches – Netzwerkplanung Netzwerkplanung DE Einführung in das Switching Ein Switch ermöglicht das zeitgleiche Übertragen von zahlreichen Datenpaketen, er kann daher Netzwerke effektiver als andere Geräte in einzelne Bereiche aufteilen. Switches haben sich so zu einer der wichtigsten Komponenten in der modernen Netzwerk-Technologie entwickelt. Wenn Performance-Engpässe im Netzwerk durch die Anhäufung von Datenpaketen am Netzwerkanschluss hervorgerufen werden (z. B.

LANCOM Installation Guide Switches – Installation Montage und Anschluss des LANCOM Switches 4 DE Die Installation des LANCOM Switches erfolgt in folgenden Schritten: AA Montage – Montieren Sie das Gerät in einem freien 19”-Einschub in einem entsprechenden Serverschrank. Nutzen Sie dazu die mitgelie ferten 19”-Montagewinkel. Bringen Sie gegebenenfalls die Gummifüße auf der Unterseite des Gerätes an, um Kratzer auf den Oberflächen anderer Geräte zu vermeiden.
DE AA Mit Spannung versorgen – Versorgen Sie das Gerät über das Kaltgerätekabel und/oder eine externe Spannungsversorgung (modellabhängig) mit Spannung. AA Betriebsbereit? – Nach einem kurzen Selbsttest des Geräts leuchtet die Power- bzw. System-LED permanent. Grün leuchtende Link/Act-LEDs zeigen an, an welchen LAN-Anschlüssen funktionierende Verbindungen hergestellt sind.
LANCOM Installation Guide Switches – Konfiguration Konfiguration DE Konfigurationsmöglichkeiten Zur Konfiguration des Geräts stehen unterschiedliche Wege zur Auswahl: AA Grafische Benutzeroberfläche über einen Browser (WEBconfig): Diese Konfigurationsmöglichkeit können Sie nur über eine Netz werkverbindung nutzen, wenn Sie das Gerät von Ihrem Rechner aus über die IP-Adresse erreichen können. Der Rechner benötigt dazu ein Betriebssystem mit TCP/IP-Unterstützung (z. B.
DE über Programme > LANCOM > LANconfig. LANconfig sucht automatisch nach erreichbaren Geräten in Ihrem Netzwerk. Neben anderen evtl. vorhandenen LANCOM Routern oder Access Points werden dabei auch LANCOM Switches gefunden und in der Liste angezeigt. Mit einem Doppelklick auf diesen Eintrag starten Sie automatisch einen Browser mit der entsprechenden IP-Adresse.
LANCOM Installation Guide Switches – Konfiguration LANCOM Management Cloud 4 DE Zur Konfiguration eines LANCOM Switches über die LANCOM Management Cloud (LMC) muss dieser zunächst in die LMC aufgenommen werden. Für die Aufnahme des Switches in die LMC muss der Switch einen Zugang zum Internet besitzen und cloud.lancom.de erreichen können.
Öffnen Sie die Ansicht Geräte in der LANCOM Management Cloud und betätigen die Schaltfläche Neues Gerät hinzufügen. DE Im folgenden Fenster geben Sie die Seriennummer und die Cloud PIN des Switches an. Anschließend bestätigen Sie die Eingabe über die Schaltfläche Gerät hinzufügen. Ein LANCOM Switch kontaktiert für 24 Stunden nach Abschluss des Bootvorgangs automatisch die LMC, um die Kopplung erfolgreich zu beenden.
LANCOM Installation Guide Switches – Konfiguration Aufnahme in die LMC über Aktivierungscode 4 DE Über diese Methode können Sie in nur wenigen Schritten ein oder mehrere LANCOM Switches gleichzeitig, aus LANconfig heraus, in die LANCOM Management Cloud aufnehmen. Beachten Sie, dass nur LANCOM Switches mit LANCOM Switch OS 3.30 oder höher in die LANCOM Management Cloud aufgenommen werden können.
Über die Schaltfläche Aktivierungscodes können Sie in der Ansicht Geräte jederzeit alle Aktivierungscodes für dieses Projekt einsehen. DE Verwenden des Aktivierungscodes Öffnen Sie LANconfig und markieren Sie den bzw. die gewünschten Switches und klicken Sie auf das Cloud-Icon in der Menüleiste. In dem sich öffnenden Dialogfenster geben Sie nun den zuvor generierten Aktivierungscode ein und betätigen die Schaltfläche OK.
LANCOM Installation Guide Switches – Konfiguration Command Line Interface über TCP/IP DE Wenn Ihnen die IP-Adresse des managed Switches bekannt ist (siehe auch Abschnitt WEBconfig) und er von Ihrem Rechner aus über das Netzwerk erreichbar ist, können Sie das Command Line Interface über das Netzwerk nutzen. AA Starten Sie dazu z. B. eine Konsole wie SSH oder Telnet und geben Sie als Ziel die aktuelle IP-Adresse des Gerätes ein.

LANCOM Installation Guide Switches – Network Planning Network Planning Introduction to Switching EN A switch allows simultaneous transmission of multiple packets, it can partition a network more efficiently than bridges or routers. Therefore, the switch has been recognized as one of the most important device for today’s networking technology. When performance bottlenecks are caused by congestion at the network access point such as file server, the device can be connected directly to a switched port.
Among others, the switches are suitable for the following applications: AA Remote site application is used in Enterprise or SMB AA Peer-to-peer application is used in two remote offices AA Office network EN 26
LANCOM Installation Guide Switches – Installation Installation Selecting a Site EN The switch can be mounted in a standard 19-inch equipment rack or on a flat surface. Be sure to follow the guidelines below when choosing a location. AA Position the switch near the devices you want to link and near a power outlet. AA Be able to maintain the temperature of the switch within the limits listed in the Hardware Quick Reference Guide.

LANCOM Installation Guide Switches – Installation EN 4 Ensure that the device has sufficient ventilation to prevent damage from excessive heat build-up. 4 Use only standard TP cables of category CAT 5 or better with a maximum length of 100 m to ensure the best possible data transfer. Crossover cables can be used thanks to the auto-sensing function. AA LAN connection – Connect the network devices to the ports of the LANCOM switch by means of a suitable twisted-pair cable (TP cable).
Configuration Configuration options EN There are three different options to configure the device: AA Via a graphical user interface in a browser (WEBconfig): This option is only available if you have network access to the device’s IP address from your computer. The computer requires an operating system that supports TCP/IP (e. g. Windows, Linux, BSD Unix, Apple Mac OS) and also access to the LAN and a webbrowser.

AA Integration into the LANCOM Management Cloud by serial number and Cloud PIN AA Integration into the LANCOM Management Cloud by activation code EN Integration into the LMC by serial number and Cloud PIN If you have purchased a LANCOM switch that was shipped with LANCOM Switch OS 3.30 or later – i.e. it is already “Cloud-ready” – all you have to do is simply add the device to a project in the LANCOM Management Cloud (Public). You will need the serial number of the switch and the associated Cloud PIN.
LANCOM Installation Guide Switches – Configuration A LANCOM switch will try to contact the LMC automatically for 24 hours after a reboot to conclude the pairing. EN 4 A Cloud PIN for integrating switches into the LANCOM Management Cloud (Public) is available for switches that have been supplied with LANCOM Switch OS 3.30 or later and are thus “Cloud-ready”.
Create an activation code by following the instructions in the dialog. This activation code allows you to integrate the LANCOM switch into this project at a later time. EN The Activation code button displays all of the activation codes for this project in the Devices view. Using the activation code Open LANconfig and select the desired device or devices and click the Cloud icon in the menu bar.
LANCOM Installation Guide Switches – Configuration Command Line Interface via network EN If you know the IP address of the managed switch (see section above) and the device is accessible from your computer via the network, you can use the command line interface via the network. AA To do this, start a console such as SSH or Telnet and enter the device‘s IP address as the target. AA Log on with user name and password (default: admin, password: admin).
