PROCEDURE 1. Fill the graduated cylinder (0418) to the 50 mL line with sample water. Transfer to a 125 mL Erlenmeyer flask (0431). 2. Add one Phenolphthalein Tablet (T-2246). If the solution turns red, P Alkalinity is present; proceed to Step 3. If the solution is colorless, P Alkalinity is zero; proceed to Step 4. 3. Fill buret (0427) with *Alkalinity Titration Reagent (4015). While swirling flask, slowly add *Alkalinity Titration Reagent until red color disappears. Record buret reading as Value P.

PROCEDURE 1. Fill the graduated cylinder (0418) to the 50 mL line with sample water. Transfer to a 125 mL Erlenmeyer flask (0431). 2. Add one Phenolphthalein Tablet (T-2246). If the solution turns red, P Alkalinity is present; proceed to Step 3. If the solution is colorless, P Alkalinity is zero; proceed to Step 4. 3.
