Filter System Installation
Aligntheltertanksforeasyaccesstothetopaccessandlower-domeclean-outports;considerthe
placementofthemanifoldsandothercomponents.Attachthebackwashvalvestoeachtanksecurely
withcouplings,usingproperlubricantonthegaskets.Besurethatvalvesareinstalledwithproper
connectiontothetanks.
Attachtheinlet,outletandbackwashmanifoldswithgrooved-endcouplings.NOTE: BACKWASH
LINEISNOTPROVIDEDBYLAKOS.
IMPORTANT: The common practice of injecting fertilizers or chemicals should be piped into the
system line downstream of the lter system. Some chemicals can be aggressive and harm or
compromisethecomponentsofyourltersystem,reducingthelifeofyourltersystem.
Usingthetopaccessport,addthepropervolumeofmediasandtoeachtank(refertothe
Specicationchartonpages5or6).Itisrecommendedthatmediasandbeaddedslowlyandwith
somewaterinthetanktobetterinsurethatthesandproperlybedsbothbelowandaroundthe
underdrain.Propervolumeofsandwilllleachtanktoapproximately2/3level.
Assembling The Components
The following diagrams illustrate the proper assembly of the various parts of your LAKOS Filter
System.Notethatsettingupanautomaticsystemrequiresalongersetupandcongurationtime.
Witheithersystem,usepropercarewiththebarbedtubingttingstoavoiddamage/leakingproblems.
