Excessiveowthroughlters,causing
“coning” of media sand and/or forcing
contaminantsthroughlteroutlet.

Incorrect media sand.
Excessively high pressure differential

Insufcientvolumeofmediainlter,
which allows contaminants to pass
through the system.
Excessive contaminant load restricts

Insufcientbackwashow.
Inadequate media sand volume, which
mayminimizecoverageofbackwash

Insufcientsandvolume.
Increased concentration of
contaminants in water supply.
Controller power may be off or circuit

1. Reduceowrateoraddextra

forowrecommendations.
2. Bleed off trapped air in system.
3. Replace with proper media
sand. Consult your LAKOS
representative.
4. Backwashmoreoftenatlower
differential pressure.
5. Add proper sand media to
tank(s)tospeciedlevel.
1. Draintank(s)andremovehand-

3. Follow #1 and add sand media
as necessary.
1. Adjustbackwashowor
duration.
2. Add media sand to achieve
proper volume.
3. Adjustbackwashfrequency
or reduce pressure differential
setting to achieve more frequent
backwashcycles.
1. Be sure wiring is connected
correctly.Resetcircuitbreaker.
Turn on power. Controller may
be faulty and need replacement.
2. Adjust as necessary. Typical is
6-7 psi.
3. Checkconnections,cleanports
