Pairing process and user profile
Before the PREMIUM mobile telephone provision can be used, a one-time pairing process with the
mobile telephone must be carried out to “connect” the units to each other. A user profile is created in
the PREMIUM mobile telephone provision which is assigned to one specific mobile telephone.
Pairing must always be carried out via the instrument cluster display.
Once the pairing process has been carried out, the PREMIUM mobile telephone provision will connect
automatically with the “known” device via the Bluetooth connection when the ignition is switched on.
In some cases, the PREMIUM mobile telephone provision in the mobile telephone must be authorised
to do this. Follow the operating manual for the mobile telephone.

Volkswagen recommends pairing a mobile telephone with the PREMIUM mobile telephone
provision via premium telephony ⇒ Bluetooth profiles in order to use all of its functions.
Refer to the operating manual for the mobile telephone for information on pairing and connecting
the mobile telephone with the PREMIUM mobile telephone provision via Bluetooth.
Some networks might not support all language-dependent characters and services.

Bluetooth technology
Bluetooth technology is used to connect a mobile telephone to the hands-free system fitted in a vehi-
cle. A pairing process only has to be carried out once to use the mobile telephone provision with a
Bluetooth mobile telephone.
Use compatible Bluetooth devices only. Information on compatible Bluetooth products is available from
your Volkswagen dealership or on the Internet.
Some Bluetooth mobile telephones are detected and connected automatically when the ignition is
switched on. For this to happen, the mobile telephone and the Bluetooth function in the telephone
must be switched on, and all active Bluetooth connections to other units must be disconnected.
The Bluetooth connection is free of charge.
