PREMIUM mobile telephone provision 29
Step 3: Pairing a mobile telephone
First read through the whole of step 3 before carrying out all the individual actions.
Select the mobile telephone from the device list. Immediately afterwards, you will have to confirm the
prompts and enter a 16-character password on the mobile telephone within 30 seconds!
Hold the mobile telephone to be paired in your hand ready to enter the password within the time limit.
Select the mobile telephone to be paired on the combi-instrument display. Confirm this selection.
On the mobile telephone, confirm the connection prompt if required.
Enter the 16-character password shown on the combi-instrument display within 30 seconds on the
mobile telephone and confirm the password entry.
Confirm any further prompts on the mobile telephone if required.
Step 4: Entering the PIN code
Only necessary if this is required by the SIM card setting.
Enter the PIN code for the mobile telephone's SIM card when PIN-Code: appears on the display.
Select Store in order to use automatic connection by the PREMIUM mobile telephone provision to
the mobile telephone when the ignition is switched on without having to enter your PIN code in the
future.
Alternatively: Select OK to enter the PIN code manually before every automatic connection.
Step 5: Creating a user profile
Confirm the prompt on the combi-instrument display for creation of a user profile.
The Bluetooth name of your mobile telephone will be suggested as a user name. If desired, delete the
suggested user name and enter a new name.
Store the user name.
The user profile has been successfully created and the basic telephone screen is displayed.
Failed pairing
There is no limit on the number of attempts to pair the device with the PREMIUM mobile telephone
provision.
Pairing will fail if the time limit for password entry is exceeded or an incorrect PIN code is entered.
Start the pairing process again if pairing fails even though the data entered were correct.
Copy of the telephone book
Once pairing has been successfully completed, the telephone book entries on the SIM card and the tele-
phone book in the mobile telephone

are loaded automatically into the data memory of the PREMIUM
mobile telephone provision. This procedure may take some minutes depending on the number of entries.
The display of the telephone book entries in the PREMIUM mobile telephone provision does not show
the entries on the SIM card but the copy stored in the memory page 40.
To prevent abuse, deactivate “Visibility” on the mobile telephone when the pairing process is complete.
