Skinfold Measurement for Women Based on the Jackson-Pollock
Three Site Method
Triceps: A vertical fold on the posterior midline
of the upper arm (over triceps muscle). Halfway
between the acromion process (bony bump
where the top of the arm joins the shoulder) and
olecranon processes (bony tip of the elbow). The
elbow should be extended and relaxed. Take the
measurement 1 cm from the ngers.

Suprailiac: A diagonal fold in line with the natural
angle of the iliac crest in the anterior auxillary line
above the iliac crest (just over the iliac crest or hip
bone and a little forward). Take the measurement
1 cm from the ngers.
Thigh: A vertical fold on the anterior aspect of the
thigh, midway between hip and knee joints. Have
the patient shift their weight to the leg not being
measured. Take the measurement 1 cm from the
ngers.
