The common service operations necessary to maintain the Biosafety Cabinet
for peak performance are listed below.
Note: This manual covers operation and maintenance operations for the
owners/users of the Logic Biosafety Cabinets. Complete certification

Procedure Stations. This manual is available from Labconco’s

Routine Maintenance Schedule
Weekly
Using 70% ethanol, or a suitable disinfectant, surface disinfect the
inside of the cabinet and the work surface.
Using an appropriate glass cleaner, or LabSolutions Glass & Surface
Wipes, Labconco part # 1570000; clean the sash and the surface of
the UV lamp, if so equipped.
Operate the cabinet blower, noting the percent filter life remaining in
an operational log.
Monthly (or more often as required)
Using a damp cloth, or LabSolutions Glass & Surface Wipes,
Labconco part # 1570000; clean the exterior surfaces of the cabinet,
particularly the front and top of the cabinet, to remove any
accumulated dust.
Disinfect and lift the work surface. Surface disinfect the lower
plenum with a solution of 70% ethanol, or a suitable disinfectant.
Check the towel catch for retained materials.
Check all service valves, if so equipped, for proper operation.
