Safety Features The Grizzly 50BB rifle utilizes a positive safety feature, which, if properly used, can minimize the danger of accidental discharge. TRIGGER BLOCK SAFETY The trigger block safety is located on the left side of the rifle just above the handgrip. When the safety is in the safe position, an internal cam surface engages the trigger and prevents the rearward movement of the trigger when it is squeezed.
Functioning and Loading: CAUTION: READ THE SECTION OF SAFETY INSTRUCTION COMPLETELY ON PAGES 4 TO 6. USE ONLY AMMUNITION RECOMMENDED (see page 1) FOR YOUR RIFLE AND THE CALIBER THAT CORRESPONDS. FUNCTIONING: The L.A.R. Manufacturing, Inc. Grizzly Bog Boar Rifle is prepared to fire by removing the bolt and moving the safety to the safe position. A round is inserted into the bolt shell holder.
LOADING CAUTION: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF UNINTENTIONAL DISCHARGE, LOAD LIVE AMMUNITION INTO THE RIFLE ONLY WHEN YOU ARE READY TO SHOOT. LOADING THE RIFLE 1. CAUTION: READ THE SECTION OF SAFETY INSTRUCTION COMPLETELY ON PAGES 4 TO 6. 2. 3. Use only ammunition recommended (see page 1) for your rifle and the caliber that corresponds. UNLOADING Unloading The Rifle: CAUTION: REMEMBER TO UNLOAD THE RIFLE IMMEDIATELY AFTER USE AND PRIOR TO CLEANING AND STORAGE TO MINIMIZE THE RISK OF ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE. 1. Be sure you are familiar with the Safety Instructions, pages 4 to 6. ALWAYS POINT THE RIFLE IN A SAFE DIRECTION. DO NOT TOUCH THE TRIGGER AND ALWAYS KEEP YOUR HANDS AWAY FROM THE MUZZLE. 2. With the rifle pointed in a safe direction, make sure the trigger block safety is in the safe position.
CAUTION: IF YOUR RIFLE FAILS TO FIRE, CONTINUE HOLDING IT POINTED TOWARD THE TARGET OR SAFE, OPEN AREA AND WAIT 30 SECONDS. IF A HANGFIRE (slow ignition) HAS OCCURRED, THE ROUND SHOULD FIRE WITHIN 30 SECONDS. IF THE ROUND DOESN’T FIRE, REMOVE IT AND EXAMINE ITS PRIMER. IF THE FIRING PIN INDENT ON THE PRIMER IS LIGHT, OFF CENTER OR NON-EXISTENT, HAVE YOUR GUN EXAMINED BY A QUALIFIED GUNSMITH.
Maintenance: As with any piece of fine equipment, keeping your Grizzly Big Boar clean and well lubricated will prolong its useful life. This section is intended to assist you in the maintenance of your Big Boar, so that it will perform better, be safer and last longer. CAUTION: CHECK TO BE SURE THAT THE RIFLE IS UNLOADED BEFORE STRIPPING AND CLEANING TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL FIRING. STRIPPING FOR CLEANING 1.
Cleaning procedure: 1. 2. 3. CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE RIFLE IS UNLOADED! Strip the rifle for cleaning as described above. Attach a cotton flannel patch to the end of the cleaning rod, insert it in the rifle’s breech and pass the rod and patch down the barrel. Repeat this step, changing the patch each time until it comes out clean. Note: Avoid any contact by the cleaning rod against the muzzle, as any wear caused by the contact will reduce accuracy. 4. 5. Inspect the barrel visually.
SERVICE AND REPAIRS If your Big Boar Rifle should need repair or adjustment, (after MAKING SURE IT IS UNLOADED) take it or send it to the L.A.R. Authorized Warranty Service Center, 4133 West Farm Road, West Jordan, Utah 84088. IMPORTANT: If you make any unauthorized adjustments or use unauthorized parts, L.A.R. will not assume responsibility for the proper functioning of your G50BB rifle.
