PresstheALGsoftbuttontocalluptheAlgorithm(ALG)page.Thetoplineofthedisplaygives
youtheusualmodereminder,andtellsyouwhichlayeryou’relookingat,aswellashowmany
layersareinthecurrentprogram.YoucanviewtheALGpagesofany
otherlayersinthe
programbyusingtheChan/Layerbuttons.
Thebasicdefinition:analgorithmisthe“wiring”(signalpath)ofasampletotheaudiooutputs,
throughaseriesofdigitalsignalprocessing(DSP)functionsthatyouselect.ThePC3K’s
algorithmsarethecoreofVariableArchitectureSynthesisTechnology.The
DSPfunctionsare
synthesistools(filters,oscillators,etc.)thatyouassigntothevariousstagesofthealgorithm.The
DSPfunctionsyouchoosedeterminethetypeofsynthesisyouuse.
Thecentralportionofthepageshowsthealgorithmforthecurrentlyselectedlay er.Youseethe
numberofthealgorithm
(from1to28,101to131,and theIDsforanyuser‐definedalgorithms)
andagraphicrepresentationofthesignalpath,aswellasthecurrentlyselectedDSPfunctions
withinthesignalpath.
Touseadifferentalgorithm,selecttheAlgorithmparameteranduseanydataentry methodto
selectadifferentone.TochangetheDSPfunctionwithinanalgorithm,movethecursortothe
blockyouwanttochange,thenusetheAlphaWheelorPlus/Minusbuttons.There’sa
staggeringnumberofcombinationsofalgorithmsandDSPfunctionsalone,nottomentionthe
numerouscontrolsthatcan
beusedtomodifytheDSPfunctions.
Note:Changingalayer’salgorithmcanaffectthelayer’ssounddrastically.It’sagoodideatobringdown
thevolumeofyourPC3Koryoursoundsystembeforechangingalgorithms.
