Control Setup Advanced Features
Thecontrolsetupcanalsobeusedtosetotherparameterswhichaffectprogrammode.See
Chapter 7,SetupModefordetailsoneachoftheseparameters:
•VelocityscalingcanbesetintheSetupEditorwithparametersontheKEY‐VELpage.
Thoughamastervelocitymapcanbesetwith
theVelocityMapparameterontheMaster
ModeMAPSpage(seepage 11‐5,)settingvelocityscalingintheControlSetupprovides
moreoptions.
• ProgrammableswitchdestinationscanbesetontheSetupEditorPRGSWITCHpages.In
Programmode,theProgrammableSwitchesactasProgramSelectbuttonsifnoneof
them
areassignedtoadestinationinthecontrolsetup.IfatleastoneProgrammableSwitchis
assignedinthecontrolsetup,thentheassignedProgrammableSwitchbuttonsactas
assigned,butnoneofthebuttonsfunctionasprogramselectbuttons.
• RibbonsettingscanbesetontheSetupEditorRIBBON
andRIBBONCONFIGURpages.
•MIDIaftertouchcanbeturnedoffontheSetupEditorPRESSUREpagebysettingtheDest
fieldtoOFF.
•OntheCH/PROGpageyoucansettheBankModewhichdeterminesthetypeofMIDIbank
messagesthatProgramModewillsendtothe USBand
MIDIoutportswhenchanging
programs.SeeProgramChange(ProgChang) on page 10‐5todisablethePC3Kfromsending
programchangemessages.
•TheDestinationparameterontheCH/PROGpagedetermineswhereMIDImessagesare
sent.UsuallythisshouldbekeptatitsdefaultsettingUSB_MIDI+MIDI+LOCAL,andthe
MIDImessagedestinationforProgram
modeshouldbesetwiththeDestinationparameter
ontheMIDIModeTransmitpage(seepage 10‐2fordetails.)TheDestinationparameteron
theCH/PROGpageworksincombinationwiththeDestinationparameterontheMIDI
ModeTransmitpage.ForexampleiftheDestinationparameterontheCH/PROGpageisset
toMIDI+LOCAL,thenMIDImessageswillnotbesenttotheUSBport,evenif
USB_MIDI+MIDI+LOCALisselectedfortheDestinationparameterontheMIDIMode
Transmitpage.
Selecting And Editing The Control Setup
ThecurrentcontrolsetupcanbeselectedontheMIDIModeTransmitpageusingthe
ControlSetupparameter.
Toeditthecurrentcontrolsetup,selecttheControlSetupparameterontheMIDIModeTransmit
page,thenpresstheEditbuttontotheleftofthedisplay.Youcanalsoselectthesetupin
Setup
ModeandthenpresstheEditbuttontotheleftofthedisplay.Ifyoueditoroverwritethedefault
ControlSetup(126 Internal Voices),youcanalwaysrecalltheoriginalcontrolsetupbydeleting
thesetupstoredatID#126.Thiswillreturnthesetuptoitsdefaultsettings.
Youcandeletea
setupbyusingtheDeletesoftbuttonintheSetupEditor.
WhenselectingoreditingtheControlSetup,onlyZone1ofthesetuphasaneffectonprogram
mode.(Zones2–16arenotrelevantinProgramMode,becausethePC3K’sphysicalcontrollerscanonly
controlone
MIDIchannelatatimeinProgramMode.)SeeTable 6‐4belowforwhichpagesand
parametersintheSetupEditoroftheControlSetuphaveanaffectonProgramsinProgram
Mode.
Note:TheControlSetupdoesn’taffectthesoundofaprogram,onlytheassignmentsofcertain
physicalcontrollers.
Thesamplesandkeymapsassignedtoaprogramareunaffectedbythe
ControlSetup.Whileyou’reinProgrammode,thePC3Kignorestheprogramsassignedtothe
setupthatyouchoseastheControlSetup.
