Saving Controller Settings in Program Mode
ManyprogramshaveparametersassignedtothePC3K’ssliders,modwheel,andtheSWbutton
abovethemodwheel.Youcanchangethesettingsofthesecontrollerstochangethesoundofthe
currentprogram.Ifyouswitchtoadifferentprogram,thealterationsthatyoumadetothe
previousprogram
willbelostwithoutwarning.
Tosaveaprogramwithitscurrentcontrollersettings ,youmustsaveentryvaluesforthe
controllers.Entryvaluesarevaluessentforeachcontrollersettingwhenaprogramisloaded.To
captureentryvaluesforthecurrentprogram,presstheEdit buttontotheleft
ofthedisplayto
entertheProgramEditor.Next,usethemoresoftbuttonstofindtheSetCtlsoftbutton,then
presstheSetCtlsoftbutton.Lastly,presstheExit buttontotherightofthedisplayandfollow
theprompttochooseanID#andsavetheprogram.
Similarly,when
usingaKB3program,youcancapturetheentryvaluesforthedrawbars(the
sliders)bypressingtheSetDBRsoftbuttonintheKB3programeditor.
The Arpeggiator In Program Mode
InProgramMode,youcanuseanarpeggiatorfortheProgramonthecurrentlyselectedMIDI
channel.ThearpeggiatorcanbeturnedonandoffbypressingtheArp buttonabovethewheels
(solongasthedefaultControlSetupisbeingused,seeControlSetupbelowfordetails.)
Toaccess
thearpeggiatorparameters,presstheArpandSWbuttons(abovethewheels)
simultaneously.SeeTheARPEGGIATORPage on page 742 fordetailsonthearpeggiator
parameters.ThearpeggiatorplaysatthetemposetontheTEMPOpage.Presstheleftandright
cursorbuttonssimultaneouslytoviewtheTEMPOpage(seeTEMPO on page 11
11fordetails.)
InProgramMode,youcanchangethe programonthecurrentMIDIchannel,orchangethe
currentMIDIchannel,andthecurrentarpeggiatorsettingswillremainthesame.Ifyouenter
SetupModeandthenreturntoProgramMode,thearpeggiatorinProgramModewillbe
returned
toitsdefaultsettings.ThedefaultsettingsforthearpeggiatorinProgramModeareset
onZone1oftheControlSetup(seeControlSetupbelowfordetails.)
Note:SettingsforthearpeggiatorinProgramModearenotsavedwitheachprogram.Settings
forthearpeggiatorinProgramModecanonly
besavedbyeditingarpeggiatorsettingsforZone
1oftheControlSetup.Becausearpeggiatorsettingsarenotsavedwitheachprogram,Setup
Modeshouldbeusedwhenyouwishtosaveaprogramwithspecificarpeggiatorsettings.A

arpeggiatorsettings(seeChapter 7,
SetupModefordetails.)
MIDI Channels
ToselectaMIDIchanneltouseinProgrammode,usetheChan/Layerbuttonsattheleftofthe
display.ThecurrentMIDIchannelisdisplayedinthetoprightcorneroftheProgrammode
mainpage.NotesplayedonthePC3keyboardaresenttotheMIDIoutporton
thecurrently
selectedMIDIchannel.ForbasicuseofProgrammode(playingasingleProgram,)theMIDI
channelcanusuallybeignored.FormultitimbraluseofProgrammode(playingmultiple
differentprogramsatonce,)selecteachMIDIchannelthenselectaProgramforeach.In
Programmode,whensendingMIDI
datatothePC3fromanexternalMIDIdevice,thePC3can
playupto16differentprogramsatonce(oneoneachMIDIchannel.)SeeSave on page 1118for
