Using the Modes
Thefollowingtableliststhe proceduresformovingbetweenmodesandeditors.Notethatthe
Exitbuttonwon’talwaystakeyouwherethetablesaysitwill;itoftendependsonhowyougot
whereyouare.Thetableassumesthatyou’veenteredagiveneditorviaitscorrespondingmode.

Finding Square One
If,atanytime,youdon’tknowwhereyouare,andthemodeLEDsareallunlit,pressExitoneor
moretimes.Thiswillreturnyoutotheentrylevelofwhatevermodeyouwerein,andifyou
pressExitenoughtimes,youwillalwaysreturntoProgrammode,
thestartupmode.If you’ve
madeanychanges,you’llbeaskedwhetheryouwanttosavebeforeleavinganyeditor.Pressthe
NosoftbuttonortheExitbuttonifyoudon’twanttosave.Ifyouwanttosave,pressthe
RenameorYessoftbutton,andyou’llsee
theSavedialog,whichisdescribedinSavingand

Using the Modes
YoucanplayyourPC3Kregardlessofthemodeyou’ rein.ThePC3K’sMIDIresponseisalmost
alwaysactive.Evensotherearethreemodesthataremoreperformanceorientedthanthe
others.TheseareProgram,Setup,andQuickAccessmodes.Welldescribeeachoftheeight
modesbrieflyinthis
section.
Program Mode
ThePC3KstartsupinProg rammode,whereyoucanselect,play,andeditprograms.The
Programmodeentrylevelpageshowsthecurrentlyselectedprogram,aswellasasmall
segmentoftheprogramlist.
TheProgramEditortakesyoutothecoreofthePC3K’ssoundeditingparameters.
Setup Mode
Setupmodeletsyouselect,play,andeditsetups.Setupsconsistofupto16separatezones,split
oroverlapping,eachhavingitsownprogram,MIDIchannel,andcontrolparameters.Setupsare
greatforperformancesituations,whetheryoureplayingmultiplePC3Kprogramsor
controllingadditionalsynthsconnectedtothePC3K’sMIDI
