Root Key

AlphaWheeltoselectaRootKeynote,orusethealphanumericpadfollowedbytheEnter
buttontoenteraRootKeybyMIDInotenumber.
Pitch Adjust
Usethisparametertochangethepitchofthesamplerelativetothekeyfromwhichit’splayed.
Settingavalueof100cts,forexample,willcausethesampletoplaybackonesemitonehigher
thannormal.Thisparameterishandy
forfinetuningsamplestoeachotherifthey’reslightlyout
oftune.
Volume Adjust
Uniformlyboostorcuttheamplitudeoftheentiresample.
Alternative Start Volume Adjust (AltVolAdjust)
Thisparametersetstheamplitudeof thesamplewhenthealternativestartisused.Seepage 616
foradiscussionofAltSwitch.
Decay Rate
Thisparameterdefineshowlongthe
sampletakestodecay(fade)tozeroamplitude(silence).
DecayRateaffectseachsampleindividually,andisineffectonlywhen theamplitudeenvelope
fortheprogram(theModeparameterontheAMPENVpageintheProgramEditor)issetto
Natural.IfModeisUser,thesettingson
theAMPENVpageoverridethesettingforDecayRate .
DecayRateoperatesintwodifferentways,dependingonthenatureofthesample.Ifit’saROM
sampleoraKurzweilformatRAMsample,DecayRatetakeseffectintheloopportionofthe
sample,afterallthe attackstagesoftheamplitudeenvelope
arecomplete.FornonKurzweil
RAMsamples,DecayRatetakeseffectassoonasthesamplestarts,regardlessofthelengthofthe
attackstages.
